Redefining a research leader through a scalable brand system, unified customer experience, and market-ready creative strategy.
Overview
As AnswerLab expanded beyond UX research into a broader Experience Strategy consultancy, the company needed more than a refreshed visual identity. It needed a brand capable of expressing a new strategic position in the market. This transformation extended beyond a logo or color palette. It required aligning brand strategy, messaging, digital experience, and go-to-market execution into a cohesive system that reflected how the company helps organizations reduce uncertainty through research-powered insight.
As Art Director of Marketing, I led the creative implementation of this evolution, partnering with executive leadership, external design consultancies, and cross-functional teams to translate a new strategic vision into an operational brand system used across every customer touchpoint. I served as the creative lead responsible for translating the new brand strategy into an integrated design system and go-to-market experience.
My work included:
Partnering with executive leadership and external design consultancies to evolve AnswerLab's visual identity.
Defining the brand's color system, typography, and visual language.
Helping shape the ownable messaging framework, including the brand tagline: Own the Unknown.
Developing comprehensive brand guidelines to ensure consistency across the organization.
Creating scalable marketing assets that enabled teams to activate the brand immediately.
Leading creative direction across digital campaigns and product marketing initiatives.
Partnering with our external Build team to establish new standards for the website experience.
How We Approached This Challenge
AnswerLab had built a strong reputation in UX research, but the business had evolved. The launch of the company's new Experience Strategy service represented a broader shift, from delivering research to helping organizations make strategic decisions with confidence. Our challenge was to build a brand that reflected that evolution while remaining grounded in AnswerLab's greatest differentiator: deep human understanding. Every interaction needed to reinforce the same story.
Initially we worked towards an MVP iteration of our brand, learning from brand impressions externally and usability from an internal perspective to inform a much larger shift.
All systems needed to work across:
Marketing
Sales
Digital experiences
Research publications
Thought leadership
Internal documentation
Client presentations

Building a Living Brand System
A successful brand isn't defined by guidelines alone, but defined by adoption as well. One of my primary responsibilities was translating the strategic identity into practical tools that teams could use every day. Rather than existing as static documentation, the brand became embedded within everyday workflows across departments.
To do this, we needed to evolve AnswerLab’s branding as of 2024, test the system’s successes in external presentations, and then inform the direction for a complete redux in 2026.

Creating an In-Market Visual Language
Beyond establishing foundational design standards, I directed the visual language that introduced the new AnswerLab brand to the market. Working closely with marketing leadership, I art directed campaigns that balanced editorial storytelling with research credibility, ensuring every touchpoint consistently reflected our evolving brand position. The result was a recognizable design language that connected every customer interaction back to AnswerLab's strategic promise.
This visual system was designed to scale across:
Organic and paid social campaigns
Research publications
Landing pages
Digital advertising
Event marketing
Product launches
Executive thought leadership
AMB and Organic LinkedIn Ads Performing at 3x the benchmark for audience engagement
July News Letter Direct Marketing
August Social Flyer Direct Sales

Reimagining the Digital Experience
The website became one of the most visible expressions of the new brand. Partnering closely with our Build team, I advised on new standards for the user experience through a research-informed design process. Every decision was grounded in the same philosophy that defined AnswerLab's work with clients: use evidence, not assumptions, to improve experiences.
This included:
Competitive website audits
Accessibility evaluations
User-centered design recommendations
Information architecture refinement
Visual system implementation
A/B testing to improve engagement and retention

Business Impact
Brand Adoption: The new identity successfully scaled across marketing, sales, research, and internal operations, providing a unified design language for every customer touchpoint.
Digital Performance: Research-informed improvements to the website increased average visitor engagement from approximately 3 seconds per page to 15 seconds per page—a fivefold increase in user retention. LinkedIn advertising performed 3x over the platform benchmark based on user-targeted product-based headlines and visuals tying the brand to the subject matter.
Market Positioning: The launch of the Experience Strategy practice established AnswerLab as a partner capable of helping organizations navigate uncertainty through research-driven strategy rather than UX research alone. Marketing-qualified leads increased by 33% between 2025 and 2026.
From messaging and visual language to digital experiences and sales enablement, every artifact contributed to:
Helping organizations and our own teams own the unknown with confidence.
